Romantic Victorian Lavender Amethyst & Seed Pearl Bow Earrings
Handcrafted between 1830–1850, these exquisite earrings capture the lighthearted romance of the “Happy Victorian” era, when Queen Victoria was young and in love, before her years of mourning after Albert's death. Each earring features a delicate 15K gold bow, accented with luminous natural seed pearls, symbols of purity and love, suspending a hand-cut lavender amethyst drop of 9.7 carats.
The amethysts were individually cut by hand, leaving each stone with subtle differences that reflect the extraordinary skill of the jeweler. The gold bezels were also hand-rolled, a painstaking detail of early Victorian craftsmanship.
The bow motif, which first appeared in France in the late 16th century, became a cherished emblem of love. Its tied form symbolized two lives bound together—making these earrings a particularly romantic jewel.
It is rare to find a perfectly matched pair of earrings from this era, and these have survived in remarkable condition. Their soft lavender hue, graceful lines, and romantic symbolism make them as wearable today as they were nearly two centuries ago. A beautiful touch of romance for any occasion, they would also make an unforgettable heirloom piece for a bride.

Matching pairs from this period are rare, making the survival of these earrings in such fine condition particularly special.
All of the jewelry listed here is antique and pre-owned, meaning it may show signs of wear, which is a testament to its rich history and the stories it carries.
